Guild Premise
The Riversong Expedition Society [RES] is a Guild Wars 2 roleplaying guild dedicated to exploration, research, and the preservation of the natural world and its various cultures. We take on missions, referred to as job postings, from external organizations like the Durmand Priory and the Tyrian Explorers Society. The members of [RES] follow principles of goodwill that guide their approach to their work.
Our primary tenets are as follows:
• Approach every action with a deep respect for the natural world.
• Work harmoniously with fellow guild members and the peoples of the lands we explore.
• Embrace a mindset of lifelong learning and improvement.
• Honor and respect the diverse cultures of the people of the world.

Our guild values teamwork, integrity, and respect for all life. Whether we are charting unexplored territories, conducting research, or engaging in cultural exchanges, the Riversong Expedition Society remains committed to its mission of exploration and preservation.
Guild History
The Riversong Expedition Society was formed by two sylvari: Faedens, a Dreamer who awakened eager to explore the world of Tyria, and Erynthir, a Soundless with a focus on hylek culture. With a mutual interest in scholarly pursuits and exploration, they decided to form [RES] as a means of gathering like-minded individuals in order to expand upon the collective knowledge and understanding of the world.
There is no restriction for members based on race, creed, background, or disability, with the exception of nefarious parties such as the Inquest, Flame Legion, Nightmare Court, and Separatists, or any other groups or individuals with malicious intent that serves to sabotage the safety of any other group of people. All people beyond these restrictions are to be respected and given the opportunity to contribute in whatever capacity they are able to [RES], be it via direct exploration or more research-oriented tasks.
Prior to joining, all potential members are screened to get a better idea of their qualifications and abilities, and then sorted into various member groups, or roles, based on these results. These roles are not all encompassing, and some members may find they fit into multiple roles.
Roles
Archivist Responsible for documenting, preserving, and organizing the knowledge and artifacts gathered by the Society. They keep records of expeditions, discoveries, and important events.
Quartermaster Manages the logistics, supplies, and equipment for the expeditions. They ensure that all members have the necessary gear and provisions for their tasks.
Diplomat Handles interactions with other organizations, local authorities, and foreign cultures. They specialize in negotiation, making alliances, and resolving conflicts peacefully.
Cartographer Focused on mapping and charting unknown territories. They provide detailed maps and geographic information to aid in exploration and planning.
Medic Provides medical care to members of the Society, both in the field and at the base. They ensure everyone stays healthy and can recover quickly from injuries or illnesses.
Combatant The role given to the more combat oriented members of the organization. They are the muscle and defenders of the Society.
Out of Character
Out of Character, we're just a couple of people who wanted a cozy, casual roleplaying community. Long gone are the days of dice rolls, elaborate character sheets, and strict activity requirements. Here at Riversong, we understand players are looking to balance their real lives with their hobbies. Hence why we founded the guild!
If you have any questions about the guild premise, lore, or otherwise, feel free to message erynthir or myself (faedens). Happy writing!
